Overhead garage door sections widths over 12' should be equipped with reinforcement struts to prevent sagging while the door is open.
All garage doors with electric openers should have one strut across the top section to prevent bowing of the section from the pull of the electric opener. Operator reinforcement brackets are also highly recommended.
Garage door section reinforcement struts are made of 2-1/4" 22 guage hemmed galvanized steel.
